On 25 April 1975, at the age of 35, the German poet and recipient of the Petrarch Prize died after a reading in London in an attempt to get in front of the pub Shakespeare to cross the street. He hadn't paid attention to left-hand traffic in England. A book by the photographer Ulrike Pfeiffer and the psychologist Prof. Dr. Friedrich Wolfram Heubachwhich is in the belleville publishing house is reminiscent of Brinkmann's time in Cologne. Ulrike Pfeiffer had received permission from him in 1969 to photograph his apartment at Engelbertstraße 65 on Rudolfplatz. The text by Fritz Heubach explains what is also to be seen in the photographs.
